Hi! I'm Jennifer, the printmaker, illustrator and nature geek behind GinkgoZee. My art pays tribute to fascinating, overlooked animals, and I love helping people discover how fun and approachable block printing can be.
I’m inviting you to my free online workshop where we will transform the humble eraser into a versatile printmaking tool!
We’ll draw a beetle by hand, carve it into your eraser block, and print it. Then we'll print our beetles together, from all around the world! I have an inordinate fondness for beetles - they are wondrously diverse and completely underappreciated.

MEET YOUR INSTRUCTOR
Hi, I'm Jennifer
I'm a printmaker, clay artist and illustrator, and a biology aficionado with geek status in insects, tidepool life and mammal skulls. My inspiration comes from nature, especially the California native species I can observe firsthand. My artwork pays tribute to biodiversity, particularly overlooked and underappreciated animals.
I've focused on printmaking for the last decade, after developing my skills as an illustrator and photographer. With a background in science illustration and formal training in biology research (ant behavior!), it was a no-brainer to combine art and natural science into a career, and I'm so excited to share my knowledge with you.
During the pandemic, I volunteered to teach my daughter's first grade class a weekly animal drawing class over Zoom, and it was a hit! I discovered how much I love teaching, and now I enjoy guiding students of all ages in their creative journeys.
I believe art is for everyone, and I'm here to share the joy of block printing and to make it accessible to as many people as possible.
